The entertainment for the benefit of Louis Lousich takes place at the Adelphi Theatre to-night. The programme is a varied one, and, taken into account with the charitable and sympathetic object in view, should attract a large house. There were sittings of R. M. and Warden's Courts this morning. This morning's Argus states that the Government do not intend to take any further proceedings against John Hughes, of Rutherglen, on the charge of arson. Greymouth's lost "monkey" was recovered yesterday morning. The day was very clear, the Argus says, and the diver found it immediately he went down. It was a little further out in the stream than was anticipated. In the Court of Appeal, Christchurch, on Wednesday, in the case of James Montgomery, an appeal against the R.M. Court, Reefton, Judge Johnston quashed the conviction with costs.
