BONUSES ON COLONIAL INDUSTRIES. Colonial Secretary's Office, Wellington, 2nd February, 1883. NOTICE is hereby given that the following bonuses will be paid on articles produced in the Colony of New Zealand, as under : A bonus of fifty per cent, on the value realized for the first thousand pounds' (LI000) worth of cocoons of the silkworm, or silkworms' eggs, produced in the colony, to be paid on quantities of not less value than fifty pounds (Lso)'nor. more than one hundred pounds (L 100) produced by any one person. MANGANEISEN AND MANGANESEBRONZE. A bonus of five hundred pounds (L 500) will be given for the first two thousand five hundred ponnds' (L 2500) worth of manganeisen, and a similar bonus for a like amount of manganesebronze, prod need in the colony from New Zealand ores, and sold at a fair market price in a foreign market. MARBLE. A bonus of three hundred pounds (L 300) will be given for the first fifteen hundred pounds' (L 1500) worth of New Zealand marble exported from the colony and sold in a foreign market at a price of not less than 9s. per cubic foot. ANTIMONY. A bonus of five hundred pounds (L 500) will be given for the first 250 tons of antimony regulus, produced in the colony from New Zealand ores, and sold at a fair market price in a foreign market. CONDITIONS. 1. Notice of intention to claim any of the above bonuses must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 31st December, 1883. 2. The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1884. 3. The first claimant of any bonus who proves to the satisfaction of the Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions to be the recipient of the bonus. 4. The other conditions as to quantity, priority, quality, and value to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer appointed for the purpose by the Government. Further information and particulars may be obtained by application at the Colonial Secretary's office. WROUOHT-IRON. A bonus of one thousand pounds will be given for the production, in New Zealand, by a direct process of 200 tons of " iron-blooms," of murketable quality, from ore produced in New Zealand. CONDITIONS. 1. The bonus not to be given for any quantity less than 100 tons. 2. Notice of the intention to erect ironworks and claim the bonus must be given to ihe Colonial Secretary before the 31st December, 1883. 3. The bonus must be claimed before the 31st December, 1884. 4. In the event of more than one claimant giving :-ueh notice, not more than seven-teuths of the bonus may be c'ai'T eil by the first producer, and not more than three-tenths by the second producer ; but if only one claimant becomes a producer on the above conditions, he mav claim the whole of the ■;.). ihe iron in respect of which anv bi'uv,.- '.s da-.Hioii. and the o>o from which it is manufactured, will be examined by an olficer to be appointed by the Government, who may require the production of bona fide accountsales of quantities not less than 100 tons weight, showing that such iron has been sold at a fair market price as wrought-iion.
