SUFFERER BY THE LATE DYNAMITE ACCIDENT.

[to the editor.] Sir—One of the miners who lost his forearm and was otherwise shattered by a late dynamite accident is getting convalescent as regards his health, but with the sight completely lost in one eye, and the other other only capable of distinguishing light from darkness. He is a married man, with one child ; and I have just learnt that his circumstances are too straightened to enable him to consult an eminent oculist. I now ask for volunteers who will generously assist in giving an entertainment to meet the case; and I dont think there will be wanting an audience of all shades of politics who will bear a hand to make it a success.—l am, &c, Francis A. Monckton, Hospital Surgeon. July 15, 1884.
