[REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CRICKET. AUSTRALIANS Y. NOTTINGHAM COUNTY. THE NEW ZEALAND FOOTBALLERS AT BATHURST. (Received June 13, 8 p.m.) London, June 12. The Australian team commenced a cricket match to-day against representatives of Nottingham County, at Nottingham. The following are the names of the local team :—Wright, Attwell, Barnes, Flowers, Grunn, Scolton, Selby, A. Shaw, Serwin, Shrewsbury, W, Wright. There was a large attendance of spectators, and the weather was splendid. The ground was in good order, and an excellent wicket, has been prepared. The Home team went in first and scored 170 ; Barnes, bowled, 33, being the highest scorer. The Australians then in went for their first innings, and when the stumps were drawn for the day, had lost two wickets for 44; Giffen, not out, 22. (Received June 14, 0.50 a.m.) Sydney, June 13. At the football match yesterday, the two goals scored by the New Zealanders were both kicked by Ryan, whose play throughout the game was very good. Taiaroa and Warbrick also distinguished themselves.
