MINERS ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Miners Association was held at the Templars Hall, Dillmans, on Monday night last; present—P. Dungau, Esq. (President), and Messrs Yoysey, Watson, Wells, Hay, Nicholas, Creber, and Morris (Secretary). The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed.

It was resolved on the motion of Mr Wells, seconded by Mr Nicholas, “That a sub-committee be appointed to draft a petition to be presented to the House of Representatives asking for a reduction in the price of water supplied by Government on the Kurnara goldfield; the committee to consist of the following membeis ; G. Voysey, A. Creber, W. Morris.”

Proposed by G. Watson, seconded by Mr J. Hay, “That the Secretary be authorised to communicate with the various mining centres asking their co-operation re the abolition of gold duty.”—Carried.

Proposed by Mr Wells, “That Mr T. Dennett be appointed a member of this committee, vice Mr Marshall, resigned.”—Seconded by Mr Nicholas, and carried.

The meeting then adjourned till Monday next.
