(Received May 30, 9.5 p.m.) Melbourne, May 30, Edgar Bastings, one of the cabin passengers per steamship Ringarooma, which arrived here this morning, committed suicide by jumping overboard. The body was recovered, but life was then extinct.

The Queensland Parliament will meet for the despatch of business on July 8, Griffiths, the Premier, in reply to a deputation which waited on him yesterday, stated that daring the dext session of Parliament Government would endeavour to pass a law sufficiently stringent to put a stop to the influx of French criminals to Queensland.
Sydney, May 30. Sailed, last night, the Union steam ship Waihora, for Auckland.
