SLUDGE-CHANNEL NEW REGULATIONS

The following communications have been handed to us for publicatiou: To the Hon. W. Rolleston, Minister of Mines. Will you defer proclamation of new Sludge-channel Regulations until first week in coming session ? I wish to confer with you regarding them. Would consider postponement great favour, and important to wellfare of district. If noi postponed will necessitate me making special trip to interview you. That course inconvenient and expensive. R. J. Seddon. Kumara, April 29, 1884, The following reply was received today : To R. J. Seddon, Esq., M.H.R., Kumara. With reference to your telegram asking me to defer proclamation Sludgechannel Regulations, since telegraphing to you from Blenheim I have had the Regulations before me as amended by the Warden, after hearing the views of the miners interested, and I have come to the conclusion that I should not be justified in interfering. W. Rolleston, Wellington, May 12, 1884.
