BONUSES ON COLONIAL INDUSTRIES. Colonial Secretary's Office, Wellington, . ! 2nd February, 1883. NOTICE is hereby given that the following bonuses will be paid on articles produced in the Colony of New Zealand, as under:— SILK. A bonus of fifty per cent, on the value realized for the first thousand pounds' (L 1000) worth of cocoons of the silkworm, or silkworms' eggs, produced in the colony, to be paid on quantities of not less value than fifty pounds (LSO) nor more than one hundred pounds (LI00) produced by any one person. MANGANEISEN AND MANGANESEBRONZE. A bonus of five hundred pounds (L 500) will be given for the first two thousand five hundred ponnds' (L 2500) worth of raanganeisen, and a similar bonus for a like amount of manganese--bronze, prodaced in the colony from>. New Zealand ores, and sold at a fair* market price in a foreign market. MARBLE. A bonus of three hundred pounds (L 300) will be given for the first fifteen hundred'pounds' (L 1500) worth of New Zealand marble exported from the colony and sold in a foreign market ata price of not less than 9s. per cubic: foot. ANTIMONY. A bonus of five hundred pounds. (L 500) will be given for the first 250 tons of antimony regulus, produced in the colony from New Zealand ores, and. sold at a fair market price in a foreign, market. . t CONDITIONS. 1. Notice of intention to claim any of the above bonuses must be given in. writing to the Colonial Secretary notlater than the 31st December, ISS3. 2. The claim must be made before the; 30th June, ISS4. 3. The first claimant of any bonn.s who proves to the satisfaction of th .e Government that he has fulfilled a\l the conditions to be the recipient of th .e bonn.s. 4. A bonus of one thousand pounds L 1000) will be given for the production, in New Zealand, by a direct process of 200 tons of " iron-blooms," c>f murketabie quality, from ore produce d in New Zealand. 1. The bonus not to be given for an y quantity less than 100 tons. 2. Notice of the intention to ere ct ironworks and claim the bonus nui.st be given to ihe Colonial Secretary 1 iefore the 31st December, 1883. 3. The bonus must be claimed before the 31st December, 1884. 4. In the event of more than oneclaimaiit giving such notice, not more than seven-tooths of the bonus mav be c'aime'l by the liist producer, and not more than three-tenths by the second producer; but if only one claimant becomes a producer on the above conditions, he may claim the whole of the bonus. 5. The iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed, and the ore from which it is manufactured, will bo examined by an olhcev- to be appointed by the Government, who may require t.-he production of bona fide account .sales of quantities not less, than 100 t his weighr, showing that, sueh iron has been sold at a fair market price as wrought-ison.
