JJOBOUGH OF UMA RA. REPOET OF THE BOROUGH AUDITORS, For the Year ending March 31, 1884. To his Worship the Mayor and Borough Councillors of Kumara. Sir and Gentlemen — We, the undersigned, beg to report that we have carefully examined the books and accounts of the Borough, and compared the same with the vouchers and bank book, and we have found them correct. We regret to find that the recommendations made by your auditors, and adopted by the Finance Committee six months ago with regard to the time-sheet and other matters have not been carried out. We therefore had to pass the monthly time-sheet as laid before us without reference to the books. We have certified the correctness of the Statement of Assets and Liabilities principally on the verbal statements of the Town Clerk and the Treasurer, as no accounts have been opened for rates or for contracts, neither do the books give any information about real estate or freehold properties owned by the Borough, or their value. We connot conclude without acknowledging the courtesy of both the Town Clerk and Treasurer, who have willingly given us every assistance in their power. We have the honor to be, Yours obedient servants, LAWRENCE J. SPYER, 1 . WILLIAM WIESNER, / Auclllol ' s - Kumara, April 30, 1884. BALANCE-SHEET FOR THE YEAR ENDING MARCH 31, 1884.
