KUMARA HOSPITAL.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Town Hall last evening; presentMessrs W. Nicholson (in the chair), Davidson, Watson, Burger, Campbell* Payne, Harris, and J. Hannah. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. It was resolved that the returns for the past six mouths he forwarded by the Secretary to the Colonial Secretary and that the Secretary hand over the same to the Treasurer. The Wardsman's Report of Inpatients treated during the month of March was read and received. The total number treated was 13. Of these five had been discharged—four cured and one (M. Hyndman, suffering from dementia, &c.) transferred to the Asylum. Those discharged cured were—G. Illman, of wound in knee; J. Rouse, erysipelas ; Hugh M'Dermaid, bruises, &c; G. Allman, prostatic abscess. The eight cases remaining in the Hospital were—Michael Lee, fractured leg; F. J. Andrews, abscess in the leg; J. Davies, hemorrhoids; T. Walmsley, pneumonia, <fcc; Mrs Edwards, tremor hydrargyri; J. Gortleman, crushed foot; A. Carlstrom, replex paraplegia; J. Pearce, urethritis. It was resolved that the consideration of Rule 3 be held over until next meeting. Mr H. Burger was appointed on the House Committee vice Mr A. C. Campbell resigned. Accounts to the amount of £73 Is were passed for payment. Subscriptions to the amount of £lO were handed in as follows : —By Mr Pavne, £3 10s ; by Mr Watson, £3 ; by Mr C. Harris, £4 10s. A notice of motion was handed in by Mr Burger for the next meeting, and this concluded the business.
