A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Miners Association was held last night at the meeting-room, Dillman's; present—P. Dungan, Esq. (President), Messrs Geo. Voysey, W. Morris, C. Harris, R. Morgan, W. Wells, J. Hay, J. Tait, and P. Marshall (Secretary). The minntes of last meeting were read and confirmed, and the outward correspondence was read and approved of. Mr Morris' read to the meeting, a permit for use of sludge-channel which he had received from Mr Gow, and said, as the permit contained two new clauses, he would like to consult all parties interested before signing it; and with that view would move the following resolution— "That as permits for the use of the sludge-channel containing two new clauses which materially affect the interests of parties sluicing into the sludge-channel, are now being issued for signature by the manager, it is expedient that a meeting of all parties interested take place to-morrow evening, April Ist, for the purpose of having a definite understanding as to signing the said permits." The motion was seconded by Mr J. Hay, and carried unanimously. It was resolved that the President communicate with Mr Warden Giles asking him if he is in possession of any information regarding the new regulations that have been framed for the use of the sludge-channel. Some discussion took place as to the advisability of holding a public meeting for the purpose of considering Mr Rolleston's reply to the Report of the Commissioners appointed to inquire re sludge-channel and price of water matters, but it was decided to let the matter stand over till next committee meeting. The Secretary received instructions to procure copies of the Kumara Times containing the complete report of the Commissioners on sludge-channel matters, for the purpose of forwarding the same to the various" goldfields representatives. The meeting then adjourned.
