BONUSES ON COLONIAL INDUS- : TRIES. ; ' ‘ Cblonial-Secretary’s Office, Wellington, '''2nd February, 1883, "VTOTIGE ■ 'is' hereby given that the JjV' -' ’ following bonuses will be paid on articles produced in the Colony of New Zealand, as under:— SILK. , A bonus of fifty per cent. on‘ the value realized for the first thousand pounds’ (L 1000) worth of cocoons of the Silkworm, or silkworms’ eggs, produced in the colony, to be paid on quantities of not less value than fifty pounds'(Lso)'nor more'than one hundred pounds (LI00) produced 1 by any ductpersond : MANGANEISBN AND MANGANESEBRONZE. A bonus of five hundred pounds (L 500) will be given for' the first two thousand five hundred pounds’ (L 2500) worth of: manganeisen, and a : similarbonus for a like amount of manganesebronze, produced in the colony from New Zealand ores, and sold at a fair market price'in a foreign market, MARBLE. A bonus of three hundred pounds (L 300) will be given for the first fifteen hundred pounds’ (L 1500) worth of New Zealand marble exported from the colony and sold in a foreign market at a price of not less than 9s. per cubic foot.. ANTIMONY. A bonus of five hundred pounds: (L 500) will be given for the first 250 tons of antimony regulus, produced in the colony.from New Zealand ores, and sold at a fair market price in a foreign market, CONDITIONS. i ;L .Notice of intention to claim any of the above bonuses must be given in, writing; to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 31st December, 18,83. 2. The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1884. <■, :3.< The first : .claimant of any bonus who.proyes-to the satisfaction of the Government that he has fulfilled all the. conditions to bo the recipient of the bonus. Theptherconditions as to quantity, priority,quality, and value to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer appointed for the purpose by the Government. Further information and particulars may lie obtained by application at the Colonial Secretary’s office. •" AVROUGHT-IRON. A bonus of one thousand pounds L 1000) will bo given for the production, in New Zealand, by a direct process of 200 tons of “ iron-blooms,” of innrketabie quality, from ore produced in New Zealand. CONDITIONS. 1. The bonus not to bo given for any quantity less than 100 tons. 2. Notice of (ho intention to erect ironworks and claim the bonus must, be given to the Colonial Secretary before the 31st Deceml er, 1883. 3. The bonus must be claimed before the 31st December, 1884. 4. In the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more than-seven-tenths of the bonus may be claimed by the liist producer, and not more than three-tenths by the second • producer; but if only one claimant becomes- a producer on the above con■drioiis, he may claim the whole of the bonus. 5. The iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed, ami the ore from winch it is manufactured, will lie examined by an officer to be appointed by tin; Government, who may require the production of bona fide account sales of quantities not less than 100 t us weight, showing that such iron has been sold at a fair market price as wrooght-iioi).
