[united press association.] Auckland, March 11. Hanlan comes to the Australian Colonies as a tourist, paying his own expenses, but is prepared to row anyone who will test him. He expected that Beach would be pitted against him, but on being told that Trickett had lately beaten Beach and was champion of Australia, he said he supposed he would have to meet his old opponent. Hanlan will probably spend a few months in Australia, and when he returns he will give an exhibition in New Zealand if suitable arrangements can be made. He brings with him a boat of Spanish cedar, 11 inches in width, which weighs 291bs. He left in the mail steamer at 2 p.m. He received an ovation on landing. He said he would returu to New Zealand in four months. Morris Greenwell, who accompanies Hanlan, has engaged Mrs Langtry for a tour through the Australian colonies. She comes out by the July steamer. In the meantime Mr Greenwell will make arrangements for her appearance in Australia. She brings a small company with her, and will appear in "As Yon Like It," "She Stoops to Conquer," "The Unequal Match," and other pieces. Mrs Langtry and company will also in all probability play in New Zealand. Dunedin, March 11. Dodson, a publican at Port Chalmers, has called a meeting of his creditors. His liabilities are stated to be .£I6OO. The debtor offers to pay 7s Gd in the pound, which the creditors refuse to accept.
