WARDEN’S COURT, GREENSTONE.

Friday, February 29. [Before H. A. Stratford, Esq., Warden.] SUIT. Ah You and party v. Chang Hay and party.—Mr Hannan for complainants, and Mr Seddon for defendants.— This was an action praying that defendants be ordered to remove a wing dam, put up without the necessary authority from the Warden, and which, it was alleged, caused damage to complainants claim, &c.; and the sum of £2O was claimed as damages, on the removal of said wing dam. Mr Seddon asked the Warden to visit the ground, which he did; and, after taking evidence, decided as follows:—Judgment for plaintiffs, for breach of Mines Act regulations, for having unlawfully diverted Greenstone Creek without permission of the Warden ; the defendants are ordered to pay to the Crown the sum of £l, and to the complainants 18s costs. APPLICATIONS. Michael J. Maloney and party applied for a tunnel at Cape Terrace.— Granted. The Erin-go-Bragh Water-race Company applied for an extension of their water-race, Payne’s Gully,—Granted. Ah Toe and Ah Sum, by their agent Mr Seddon, applied for a branchrace from Erin-go-Bragh race, near Three-mile.—Granted. Ah Yuch and Ah Chu, by their agent Mr Hannan, applied for a tailrace at Fuschia Creek.—Granted. Ah Toe and Ah Sum, by their agent Mr Seddon, applied for a tail-race at Three-mile Creek.—Granted. 0. W. Anderson and party, by their agent Mr Hannan, applied for a tramway at Hayes’ Terrace.—Granted. Same party applied for a branch-race at Hayes’ Terrace.—Granted. Ah Young and party, by their agent Mr Seddon, applied for a tail-race at Greenstone Creek, Three-mile.— Granted. Ah Ketand party, by their agent Mr Seddon, applied for a tail-race at Greenstone Creek, above the township.— Granted. Same party applied for a water-race in same locality. Stephen Myson applied for a doublearea claim at Three-mile Terrace.— Granted. S. R. Harris and party, by their agent Mr Hannan, applied for protection for their water-race from Hohonu Creek.—Granted till 11th March. Harry Murphy applied for six months’ protection for his hut at Westbrook.—Granted.
