TAIPO TIMBER CONTRACT.
[to the editor.]
Sir—lt is now three months since work was suspended at the Taipo, and most of the men have been waiting since that time for their wages. I think it is great negligence on the part of the Government not to compel the sureties to complete the work, or pay the men their wages. Had the sureties been anybody else but Messrs Foldi and Kirk pa trick, I believe the Government would have finished the work before now at their expense. Hoping the Government will stir them up at once, and complete the work, so that the men can get their wages—as they are in want of it.—l am, yours, etc., John Bull. Kuiaara, February IG, 1884. [From what we can learn the sureties are long waiting orders from the Government to complete the work.—Ed. K.T.] ■ ♦
