WARDEN'S COURT.

Friday, January 14. [Before J. Giles, Esq., Warden.] William Killeen applied by his agent Mr Hannan for a residence area on section 52, Education Reserve, Greenstone Road.—Application granted. Jas. Miller, Legal Manager Kuuiara Long Tunnel Gold Mining Company (Limited), applied to construct a branch water race from the Government race at Larrikins, near the sludge-channel to the creek registered by Mr James Holmes; seven chains, depth 2 feet, breadth 4 feet. The application, was supported by Mr Hannan, but objected to by Mr Seddon on behalf of Cullen and party. The application was adjourned. There was also an application from the same company by their agent Mr Hannan to construct a water-race terminating at the company's dam, the length of such race to be one mile 12 chains, ditchkg, the remainder clearing out logs out of Dawson's Creek.—This application was objected to by Mr Seddon on behalf of Mr Holmes and Cullen and patty, and was withdrawn. The application of Grid dens and party by their a«ent Mr' Hannan, to work ground occupied by Government race, between pegs Nos. 42 and 52, was opposed by Mv Seddon, on behalf «f Thomas Rothwell and party.—The Warden ruled that there was no necessity for the application for a deviation, the ground being within applicants' own claim. • So long as the claim is held by the applicants, there appears to be no reason why they should not, with the consent of the Manager of the Government race, make any such alteration as that proposed ; but with a view to the possibility of the ground bfing given up at any time, it may be expedient for the Manager of the Goven . ment race to get the deviation rr-ijV-tered.
