Mrs Logan told her to come down to her house, and the woman said she would follow Mrs Logan when she had recovered herself a little. Mrs placed a shawl over her and returned home. As the woman did not follow, and hearing nothing more, Mrs concluded she had gone to some other house. The next morning the woman's dead body was found. Seven young men from 18 to 25 years of age, were arrested for the outrage, and a telegram on Saturday stated that true bills hive been found against four of them.
