FIRE BRIGADE.
| The monthly meeting of Hie Volunteer Fire Brigade was held in the Town Mall on Wednesday, 2nd inst.; present—Captain Dove, Lieut. Anderson, Foreman M'Ewen, Deputy-foreman Williams, Treasurer Burger, Secretary Close, Firemen Orams, Valentine, Zie.»ler, Waters, Sumpsion, Jones, Nichol, and Greenwood. Accounts to the amouut of £3 Os 9d were passed for payment. Captain Dove, now moved "That rules 13 and 15 be resciuded, and that a new rale be made combining both • said rule to come into force on the first Wednesday in February, and that the apparatus keeper receive one month's notice next meeting." The motion was seconded by Foreman M'Ewen, but lost on being put to the meeting. The officers reported all gear tf> be in yood working order.
