PICNIC COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Children's NewYear Picnic Committee was held in the Town Hall last evening; present—Mr R. J. Seddon (Chairman), Messrs A. C. Campbell, W. Wells, G. Voysey, G. Mansfield, H. Burger, W. Tyrer, H. Hope, R. Howe, and E. Toms (Hon. Sec). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Accounts amounting to £6l 15s 6d were passed for payment. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Chairman of the School Committee informing him that owing to a deficit in the funds of this Committee, he is requested to advauce the amount from moneys held on account of the Children's Annual Picnic Fund, for which an entertainment had been specially given. It was resolved that a vote of thanks be tecovdcd to those ladies who by
their valuable assistance promoted the success of the picnic ; that a balancesheet be prepared and posted in the Town Hall; and that Messrs Seddon, Burger, Campbell, and the Secretary have power to act in any matter that may not have been brought forward. It was also resolved that the Secretary be authorised to convene a meeting re establishing a cosmopolitan brass band. The Committee was then dissolved.
