Arrived, the steamship Teviotdale, from Sydney (October 27). She brings a cargo of frozen sheep, numbering 12,000 carcases, which have been ex. amined and found to be in good order. Tenders to-day are invited for a loan of one million sterling for the Colony of New Zealand; the rate of interest 4 per cent., and the minimum £9B 10s. Per Merchant Shipping and Underwriter's Association :—Arrived, Dragoon, from Lyttelton (18th" September); Lurline, from Timaru (October 2). The National Bank of New Zealand has declared a dividend for the last half year at the rate of 6 per cent, per annum. (Received January 5, 1.5 a.m.) January 4. It has transpired that at a Cabinet Council, held yesterday, the position of affairs in Egypt was discussed at length, but it is understood that no definite decision was arrived at as to the line of action which should be taken for completing the pacification and consolidation of that country. Another meeting of the Cabinet will, however, take place to-day, when it is expected a decision involving the adoption of important measures will be agreed to. Arrived, the steamship lonic, from Lyttelton November 24. (Received January 4, 10 p.m.) Alexandria, January 3. It is announced that the Khedive has decided to renounce one-tenth of the amount of the annual civil list which is now paid out of the public revenue. (Received January 5, 1.5 a.m.) New York, January 3. Mr Redmond, M.P. for New Ross, who is now in San Francisco, is engaged in furthering the objects of the Irish National League. Mr Redmond will remain a mouth in America, and has arrnnged to deliver an address upon Irish affairs at a number of places..
