Afc the Government Buildings, at "Wellington, this seventeenth day of May, 1883. Present: The Honourable the Premier presiding in Council. THERE AS it has been made to T T appear that the rate struck by the Council of the Borough of Kumara under "The Rating Act, 1882," is invalid by reason of the Town Clerk having, by accident, neglected to give due notice of the defaulter's list and the burgess list being open for inspection between the first day of April and the fifteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, as required by the forty-second. section of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876 :" And whereas it is expedient to extend the times for doing the several things that are required to be done in connection with the burgess list of of the said borough : Now, therefore, his Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority vested in him by the twelfth section of the said lastmentioned Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the doing of the things in connection with the burgess roll or rolls of the said Borough of Kumara, and doth declare that the times for the doing of such several things shall be those which are specified in the Schednle hereto annexed. SCHEDULE. 1 1. For making out the Burgess List: On or before the 31st May, 1883. 2. Public notification of the Burgess List and the Defaulters' List being ready for inspection : On the Ist June, 1883. 3. Burgess and Defaulters' Lists open for inspection, and delivery of objections thereto: Until the 15th June, 1883. 4. Inspection of lists of objections: From the 16th June to the 21st June, 1883. 5. Sitting of Council to determine claims and objections: Between the 22nd June and the 30th June, 1883. 6. Burgess Roll to come into force : On the Ist August, 1881. Under " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a SPECIAL MEETING of the BOROUGH COUNCIL of Kumara will be held on THURSDAY, the 14th day of June, 1883, at the hour of 9 o'clock p.m., for the purpose of REVOKING BYE-LAW No. 27, of the said Borough, relating to Driving Cattle through the Streets; and after revocation, that the same be amended by inserting the hours for Driving Cattle through the Streets as froin Half-past Nine o'clock (9.30) a.m. until Half-past Eleven (11.30) a.m., and from Half-past One o'clock (1.30) p.m. until Half-past Three o'clock (3.30) p.m. ALFRED SKILTON, Town Clerk.
