LAUNCH OF THE ISABELLA ANDERSON.
The schooner Isabella Anderson, so long trading between the East Coast of the South Island and Hokitika, was, as our readers are aware, cast ashore on the north beach on the 21st ult., and sold to Mr John Maher, the well known speculator and contractor, for the sum of £2OO. The West Coast Times 'today states : " With some difficulty, and under the superintendence of Mr Macfarlane, a skilled ship carpenter, she was launched successfully over the northern training wall into the river, and being now once more afloat, her former career of nsefulness will be resumed, to be interrupted, it may be hoped, by no more accidental contact with unsympathetic solid ground. The launching was admirably carried out, and reflects credit upon those who superintended. It may be mentioned that the officers of the Harbor Board are satisfied that not the slightest damage has been done to their property by the launching." The cargo of the Isabella Anderson realised £4OO.
