NOTICE is hereby given that I, the undersigned Ellen-Hayes, of Kumara, do give notice that I desire to obtain, and will at the Annual Licensing Meeting for the Licensing District of the Borough of Kumara, bn the FIFTH day of JUNE, 1883, apply for a certificate authorising the issue of a RENEWAL of the PUBLICAN’S LICENSE, for a house in Main street, known as “ Slattery’s Hotel,” containing nine rooms, exclusive of those required for the use of the family. UNDER the Counties Act Amendment Act, 1882, BY-LAWS have been made by the County Council for the Licensing of Public Vehicles, and Mr RICHARD BECK, of Kanieri, has been appointed INSPECTOR of said Vehicles. The following are the FEES to be paid for Licenses : For every four-wheeled vehicle drawn by two or more horses.—Annual License, Ten Pounds (.£10) • Halfyearly License, Six Pounds (£6). For every two-wheeled vehicle drawn by two or more horses.—Annual License, Seven Pounds Ten Shillings (£7 10s); Half-yearly License, Five Pounds (£5). For every wheeled vehicle drawn by one horse.—Annual License, Five Pounds (£5); Half-yearly License, Three Pounds (£3). This BY-LAW will come into operation on the Ist MAY, 1883, on which date all LICENSES must be paid at the County Council Chambers, Hokitika.
