The following full-powered Steamships, built and fitted expressly for mrrying passengers on long ocean voyages, are each of about 4000 tons register, and make the voyage in about 4,o*days. One of the Company’s steamers leaves Sydney every four weeks for Singapore wid Hong Kong, under mail contract, connecting at Signapore with the Peninsula and Oriental Company, and Messageries Maritimes steamers wi India and Europe (via Suez). Tea and other cargo booked in Hong Kong at through rates to all New Zealand ports for transhipment to Union Company’s steamers at Sydney.
