WARDEN’S COURT.
Friday, April 6. [Before J. Giles, Esq., Warden.] APPLICATIONS. The applications (four) of Solomon Pascoe and party, by their agent Mr Hannan, for a water-race, working ground on races, and for diversion of a water-race, were adjourned till next Court day. Charles Harris and another’s application for a water-race was withdrawn. In reference to Charles Griggi and party’s application, by their agent Mr Hannan, for an extended claim of 5 acres at Larrikins, the Warden ruled that—“ This application being made only for the purpose of avoiding a condition attached to grant of extended claim (21-74, No. 32648) dated 13th October, 1882, requiring eight men to be employed on the ground, it is considered that the said condition may be cancelled, and the former grant continue in force.”
Thomas Wheeler applied, by his agent Mr Hannan, for a residence area fronting Knmara andDillman’s Road.— Granted, although depth cannot be got, on account of precipice. The application of Joseph Meade
and party for an extended claim at Larrikins was postponed for survey. Thomas Reynolds’ application for a residence area of half-an-acre of land situate on Prospector’s Terrace, near Prospectors’ dam, was granted. Edward Johnstone and party by their agent Mr Hannan, applied for a protection certificate for claim and tail-race being No. 28 in point of precedence for sluicing into the sludge-channel and no water being available for that purpose. —Granted ; protection to cease if water available.
Michael Burke and, party, by their agent Mr Hannan, applied for an extended claim of 5 acres at Patrick’s Terrace.—The applicants were required to wait for survey. Daniel Rowley and party’s application for an extended claim was postponed for the same reason.
W. S. Hanna and Robert Anderson had applications lodged for the construction of . a tunnel at a point commencing about 350 yards above the Teremakau bridge on the south bank of the bridge, and also for a special site for stacking stones.—The parties not appearing the applications stand over. John Gow, Manager Kumara sludgechannel for her Majesty the Queen, applied for a special site for stacking timber on the north side of the Dillman’s Road, and also to construct a tramway on the north side of the Dillman’s road, near the Break, and within one chain on each side of Thomas’s boarding-house, and terminating near the mouth of the Kumara sludge-chan-nel.—Both applications were granted.
