[new ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Mai’ch 20. Nothing has yet been seen of Pinching, chemist, of Kaiapoi, who left his house more than a week ago. An active search is going on. A man named Graham was found dead on the north road near Leithfield, apparently having fallen out of a dray while drunk, and broken his neck. He was a single man. Dunedin, March 20. A sad accident is reported from Cape Saunders. A boy and a girl named Nelson, aged 3J and 2J years respectively were so severely burnt that the girl died soon after the occurrence, and the boy is injured beyond hope of recovery. Later. Further particulars of the death of the two children shows they were a boy, son of Mr Nelson, chief lighthousekeeper, and a girl aged two years and eight months, daughter of Mr Henovau, assistant keeper. They were playing in a cowshed in the afternoon of Monday, and it appears they must have had matches, for by some means they set it on fire. Mr Nelson seeing flames ran to the building, and with great difficulty got the children out from the flames, the flesh peeling from the little creatures as be grasped them. The poor little girl only breathed a moment or two ; the boy lingered on until eight in the evening. The doctor, however, could do nothing for him, and he died at that hour. Great sympathy is expressed for both Mr Nelson and* Mr Henovan.
