A robber entered the office of the Masterton railway station last night by unlocking the door, and took the duplicate safe key from the ticket cabinet, with which he unlocked the safe. A tremendous downpour of rain took place at five yesterday evening. It flooded the streets of the low-lying parts of the town into a perfect lake. George Collar, hotelkeeper, sued Milner Stephen for 2 guineas, fee paid for an alleged perfect cure of his daughter, from contracted leg. It was proved that the girl was not at all benefited. The case lasted the whole day and was adjourned for further evidence. Mr Stephen applied for it to be adjourned for six weeks, to procure witnesses from other colonies as to his power of healing.
