VOLUTNEER FIRE BRIGADE.
A special practice of the Kumara Volunteer Fire Brigade took place last evening, after which a meeting was held at the Town Hall; present—Capt. Dove, Lieut. Anderson, Foremen Close and Brayshaw, Firemen Williams, and M'Ewen, Secretary Carey, and Firemen Skilton, Schroeder. and Ross. The auditors reported having examined the vouchers, bank book, &c, and found the accounts correct. The balance-sheets of the General and Members' Funds for the six months ending February, 1883, were read.
The General. Fund receipts amounted to £4O Is 6d ; and the expenditure to £33 3s lOd, leaving a balance in Bank of £6 17s Bd. The subscriptions to Members' Fund amounted to £4 lis, which, after paying an amount into Savings Bank of 30s, left £3 Is in the hands of the Treasurer. The Auditors' Report and the balance sheets as read- were adopted. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Borough Council asking for the subsidy for the ensuing six months. The meeting then adjourned, and the working committee met and dealt with sundry matters in connection with articles required for efficient working.
