The Kumara Times. Published Every Evening. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1883.

The Wcstland portions of the San Francisco mails, having arrived at Lyttelton yesterday, may be expected in Kumara to-morrow afternoon. It is elsewhere notified that all arrears of rates due to the Borough of Kumara remaining unpaid after the 23rd of February will be sued for without further notice.

At a meeting of the Long Tunnel Company held on the sth instant, a call of (the eighth) of twopence per share was made payable at the office of the company on Wednesday next, the 14th inst.

The fruits which Nature has ordained should successively grow and ripen in their season to perfection that they may be good for man in purifying the blood and renovating the system are well understood by experienced heads of families ; and the life and vigor they impart to body and mind are also pretty well known to those of tender years. Mr Prince made a present of Arama and a sister to Mr Carver when that gentleman was on a visit to New Zealand some time ago.
