According to the Provisional Meteorological Return for December, 1882, the greatest maximum solar radiation and maximum temperature in shade at Auckland, "Wellington, and Dunedin was as follows : Maximum solar radiation, and date.— Auckland, 135-5 on 24th; Wellington, 137-0 on 24th; Dunedin, 153 on 12th. Maximum temperance in shade, and date.—Auckland, 79-2 on 9th ; Wellington, 790 on 24th; Dunedin, 85-0 on 12th. Minimum temperature in shade, and date. Auckland, 52-2 on 28th; Wellington, 48'0 ou 28th; Duuedin, 43-0 on sth. Mean temperature in shade for month.— Auckland, 65*5; Wellington, 62-2; Dunedin, 58'3.
