THE WOODSTOCK RUSH.

[west coast times.] On Saturday last, Curnick and party, at the Woodstock rush, who had their padd- ck full for some time past, waiting for water, had a washing-up. The result is stated to be of gold from 45 loads of washdirt, which is a very satisfactory return, and proves the payable nature of the wash. Several other parties are ready for washing, whose claims are reported to be equal to that of Curnick and party. It is expected that Duncan and party, and Blundell and party, will lie supplied with water this week. The result of Cut-nick's washing must be accepted as an assurance of the utmost confidence in the field. The party are, to all appearance, hound to make high wages for years to come, and a few weeks more will prove that tlndr claim is by no means a very exceptionable one, when once water is available. Our correspondent says: “ The Homing for the wa er-race has at last been extended to Curnick and Knber s party’s claim, a ho had a washing from Unit paddock on Saturday,

which yielded 22Jozs. from 50 loads of washdirt. Danoan and party, and Blundell and party will be next to have a trial washing, which will be in about a couple of days' time. All the claims down as far as Sandy Smith's have erected large |iaddooka, capable of holding from 50 to 80 loads of washdlrt. The rush which recently took place to Arch Creek has not proved of much value, only two claims being on gold, while eight shafts have turned out duffers. There have been no new finds of any importance at the lower end of the cord nroyod track. The ground to the northward is now being taken up and sinking is proceeding rapidly.
