LATEST FOREIGN NEWS. St. Petersburg, June 6. It is announced tint the Russian Government propose to increase the import duty on wool. AUSTRALIANS V. YORKSHIRE. London, June 7. The cricket match between the Australians v. Yorkshire County Eleven, was resumed to-day at Bradford. The Home team, who had lost four wickets f r 100 runs at the close of yestenl .y’s play, continued their first innings, and were all disposed of for a total of 146, as against 128 for the Australians. The latter in their second innings made 135. Bonner was the highest
scorer, being caught 35; Murdoch, 1.b.w., 29. The Yorkshire men then commenced their second innings, but had only lost three wickets for 30 runs when stnmps were drawn. The mate!.; was therefore drawn, the Home team requiring 88 runs to win and having seven wicke's to fall. Play was somewhat spoilt by showers of rain, but the attendance was again very large. On the motion for its second reading, great opposition was shown to the Bill, and the debate was at length adjourned. Sydney, June 7. It is announced that Sir Henry Parkes, Premier of the Colony, and who is now in Europe, will -ebum to Sydney hy the Orient steamship John Elder, arriving here on 4th August. Ihe local branch of the Comptoir Descornpte de Paris, was broken into last night by burglars. They did not, however, succeed in obtaining any money or valuables.
