I Wednesday, May 17. J [Before H. A. Stratford, Esq., Warden.] GREENSTONE APPLICATIONS. Ah Smow applied by his ageut, MIS' dd«»n, for the registration of a tailrace and a water-race.—The applications were granted. The application of Chf-e Young for a water-race was granted. & Kyau applied by his agent, Mr Hannan, for a water-race.—Granted. The application of J. Connelly, by his agent, Mr Hannan, for a double area, was granted. KUMARA APPLICATIONS. The whole of the applications for residence areHS in Seddon street (seven in number) were, at the suggestion of Mr Hannan, adjourned to the 7th of June. The applications for tail-races to connect with the Government sludgechannel were further adjourned. John Brampton applied by his agent, Mr Hannan, for the registration of a tail-race.—^Granted. James Daw applied by his agent, Mr Seddon, for a double area.—The application was granted. Neil Paulson applied by his agent, Mr Hannan, for protection.—Granted. John Skipper applied by his agent, Mr Seddon, for a residence area on the Dillman and Christchureh road.—The applictiou was granted.

The application of D. Rowley, by bis agent, Mr Hatman, for protection, was granted. A. Reid .applied for a residence area. The application was granted. The applications of C. Chesterman for two tail-races weie granted. SUIT. The suit of Ward and party .v. Tifra Sir urn and party Was then proceeded with. Mr Hannan appeared for the plaintiffs, and Mr Seddon for the defendants. The case was heard before the Warden and Assessors. Plaintiffs sued defendants for damages which it was asserted they had done to plaintiffs' claim. Visiting the ground and hearing evidence occupied the Court up to yesterday evening, when judgment was given for the plaintiffs. Damages were fixed at £33 3s. In addition, there were costs of Court, expenses of witnesses, and counsel's fee. Notice of appeal was giveD,
