So far as thd committing of imposition against thd public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious j but as the qualities of both of the pro 4 ducts are in many cases directly op 4 posed to one another, we Consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts The eucalyptus oil is recorded to bd of value as a medicament in dases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing; blistering effect upon the skin; Any blistering brought oti by ttc application of a medicament must in 4 crease inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds; bronchitis; diptheria; croup, sprains; &c., the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unques 4 tionably proved by former publications in this paper, an application of the oil instead of oitr extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinouS product, equivalent to common turpen 4 tine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight. Our extract consists of the evaporating par tides of the gum leaves; soothing and healing in its effects; its price being twenty-fdnr shillings for one pound weight; Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one halt ounce arid one ounce vials; vials bear* ing oii the labels our trade mark and signature. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Gridbulos, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October; 1877, at Sandhurst :—“Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe,- of Ironbark, for riine weeks; and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an aXe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr RaabU called on Messrs Sander and Sons; pro 4 curing some of their Extract of the' Eucalyptus Globulus, and,- by the application of the same he had the satisfac 4 tion of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered.” Brief Extracts from the BendigO Evening News: — Mr Gieschen, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract; The same' gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, arid all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving felie£ Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as muck as an interruption in! his attendance at work.-' Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabhiri (Runnymede) informed the manufac turers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who bad been rushed and trampled Upon by a cow. In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman’s Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cute of driliriurri caused by sunstroke, which took place' in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, Of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which bad formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelD ing completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December 1877, states:—Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache.
