[special TO KU.MAUA TIMES.] THE NEW SECRETARY FOR IRELAND MURDERED IN PHCENIX PARK. LONDON, May 7. The newly-appointed Irish Secretary, Lord Frederick Cavendish while walking in Phoenix Park, Dublin, with a friend, were both stabbed to death. BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, May 4. In the House of Commons to-day an excited debate took place regarding the Irish policy of the Government. The Irish members who have been under arrest warmly lepudiated the charges which were made against them, that they had entered into a compact with the Executive in order to secure their release.

Forster, late Irish Secittirv, assailed the action of the Government in strong terms.

Parnell, in the co irse of a speech which he made, explained that he was willing to assist the Executive to lestore order provided the arrears of 'enacts* rents were remitted.

The first prize at the International Shipwright's Exhibition now being held has been awarded to the Orient Company’s new steamer Australia.
