LATEST ENGLISH NEWS. London, April 24. The Australian liner Famenoth, which went ashoi-e at Whitestable, near Margate, on the 27th March, has been successfully floated. Parnell has returned to Dublin, and been again lodged in Kilmainbam Gaol. The weather is very favorable for the training of Trickett and Haulan for their contest on the Ist proximo. Not much interest has thus far been taken in the approaching race by the public generally.
In the House of Commons this afternoon Gladstone introduced his annual Financial Statement; He stated that the revenue was moving on sluggishly, and that the income from duties on alcoholic liquors was decreasing, while the provisions of men were correspondingly increasing. The su'-plus at the end of the financial year 1881-82 was £352,000. The revenue for the ensuing year he estimated at £85,010,000, and expenditu eat £84,500,000. In view of the surplus shewn, it is proposed to relieve to some exr.eut the. present local taxation and ah dish annual carriage licenses now levived in Gieat Britain.
