So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would., not. be. serious ] but as the qualities of both of the pro* ducts are in'many c&ses directly op*posed to phe another, we consider it our duty to direct thfe public attention to the following facts ,The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skim ■ Atiy blistering brought on. by tfi§ application, of a Medicamedf ibust in’* crease inflammation; and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds; bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains; &c;, the curative power of oiir extract on the namfed diseased being Unques* tiohably proved by former in this p’aper, an application of the oil instead of blir extract must impaii the.diseased- .. The truth of oiir assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is h resinous product, equivalent to common turpen* tine,, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight. In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher. Of Back Creek. ‘ •: ’ The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of consider* able size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swell* ing completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states I —Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache..
