GREYMOUTH EASTER HANDICAP FOOT RACE.
[argus.] Originally there were 23 entries for the Handicap, but 14 only accepted, and only a minority of these lan all the events off. Twohill, on account of previous performances, was placed at scratch for all events, but as he had not prepared for the Handicap and was therefore altogether out of form, he merely ran a couple of racea of the shortest distances. Stenhouse came next, but scarcely seemed to be in the same fettle as when previously stripped. Handy, who looks every inch a runner, seemed rather lusty, and though he ran very gamely to the last, accomplished nothing. Codyre's runniog was something of a surprise, as he looked weak and overtrained; but he generally showed a reserve of strength and speed
when moat wanted. Moss was in cup till condition, and especially pleased his friends by his performance in the 600 yards' r«ce. Ma-culm looked not over robust, but his performance showei that his preparation for the day's exertion had beerr darefUl and compleTe, aa be stood the strain better than last year. There was very little difference in th 6 condition of the other ttotttpetitotfr excepting AldiSdgß, who was unniistak* ably fleshy: The following are the results of the day's racing • 100 YARDS.
