N O TI C E. PtfRE f OLAIffLE EUCALfPTtTI GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage of his Majesty the King of Italy; at Rotiie, according to communicatioti received from the ConsnUGeneral fot Italy, at Melbourne, upon ipstruc tions from the Minister for Foi'eign Affairs, dated 14th March, 18781 We are informed that dealers ill medicne often try to sell the CucalyptuS oil found in the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against thd public in siioh a Caste is concerned, thd consequences would hot be sferious j but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly dpi posed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the stein; Any blistering brought oh by the application of a ihedicameht must increase inflammation; and it is therefore evident that in cases df woiinds, colds; hrondhitis; diptheria, Croup, Sprains; &c., the cutative , power df odr extract on the named diseases beihg dnquestiohably proved by former publications! in this papeh, an application of the oil instead of dur extract must itbpair the diseased. The truth of duf assertion is fotirided Upon the fact that the oil is a resinous! product; equivalent to commdh turpentine, its market Value being about three shillings one pound weight; Our ex* ttact consists of the evaporating par l tides df the gum leaves; soothing and healing in its effects, its price being tWenty-fdnr shillihgs for dne pound weight. dnr extract, the genuine article, is, only made lip in one halfr ounce and dne dunce vials; Vials bearing oh the labels oUr trade mark and signature: SANDER and SONS, Sold Mahufac 2 turers of the Eucalyptus Extradt; Sandhurst, November; 1878. DUNCAN M ! LEANj Wholesale Agent for New Zealand; The Extract of the Eucalyptus GIo ; hulas; manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst; recommends) itself by the following declara l tidn and testimonials Bpitbrae of declaration made before Moritz Cohn; J.P.; on the 17th October; 1877, at Sandhurst :—“ Three rUedical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe; of Irdnbark; fdt nine weeks; and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely nedessary; At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, prdCurihg Some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and; by the applh cation of the Same he had the tion of seeing his son Within a fortnight out of all danger; and he has now quite recovered.” Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News:— Mr Gieschen; residing near Syden 2 hath Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, arid could get no relief; Cured after three applications df the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief Gated after taking extract internally for six months. A nian having his arm; bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work; Mrs Weppner; in Colbinabbitt (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter; eleven years of age; who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman’s Arms, Back Creek; brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke; which took place in the family of Mr Ryan; bnteher. of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered irt the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size; disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract.
