LATEST FOREIGN NEWS. Washington, March 13. Sir Henry Parkes, Premier of New South Wales, has started from the United States for England. Athens, March 13. A political crisis has occurred here, and the Ministry of M. Comounduros has in consequence resigned.
LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Brisbane, March 13. A serious fire occurred to-day at the office of the Brisbane Telegraph newspaper. The machine room was completely destroyed, and the remainder of the building considerably damaged. Owing to recent heavy rains, serious floods have occurred in the Claremont district.- The loss is estimated at £4OOO. Melbourne, March 13. The ship Sobrabu, which left Melbourne for London via the Cape of Good Hope on the 6th ult., and for whose salety fears were entertained, her head board having been picked up on the 16th, was subsequently spoken at sea on the 19th ult. March 14. Sailed this morning, Union Company’s steamship Albion, for Bluffi Adelaide, March 14. Arrived, this morning, s.s. John Elder, from Plymouth. Ihe loss occasioned by the recent fire on the premises of Marshall, draper, Bindley street, east, is estimated at fully £70,000. Sydney, March 14. A Collision occurred last evenin'* on the train way line to Camden, "and several persons were more or less seriously injured. Carter has been awarded £250 damages for injuries sustained at the tramway collision which occurred some time ago. RETURN MATCH. AUSTRALIA V ENGLAND. Melbourne, March 14. Owing to the heavy rain which fell f>r two hours this morning, rendering the ground unfit to play upon, the cricket match between the English and Australian teams was not resumed at the usual hour. It is feared that the delay will prevent the completion of the match.
