BRITISH AND FOREIGN, London, February 13. Intelligence is to hand from Ireland that an attempt has been made to murder Mr Lloyd, magistrate at Bodyke, and that during the attack a policeman who was guarding his house was shot. No trace of the perpetrators of the outrage has yet been obtained. The Australian and New Zealand mails via San Francisco, which left Auckland on January 3rd, and the mails via Suez and Brindisi, which left Melbourne on January 4th, were delivered in London to-day. ♦ — LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, February 14. It la announced that the passengers by the P. and 0. Company’s steamship Mirzapore, who have been isolated from the small-pox patients, will be released from quarantine on the 20ih inst, Sydney, February 15. The wreck of the steamship Fiona, as it lies at Seal Rock Point, lias been sold at auction for .£440. The cargo realised £I3L Elias Layeock, oarsman, sails f>)r England by the steamship Liguria, on Friday next. It is understood that he goes for the purpose of assisting Trickett. VICTORIA V.
