10 THE ELECTORS OF THE ARAHURA RiDING. On Wednesday next you will be called upon to record your votes for five persons to constitute the LICENSING COMMITTEE for the district of Arnhum. You no doubt expect and are justly entitled to know the views of the various aspirants before giving them your votes, especially when such important issues are involved as are in this election. I am one of the twelve candidates for this district, and my intentions are (if elected) to allow everything to remain in statu quo for the first year, i.e , for the present holders of licenses in this district to have them renewed. To refuse renewals without very strong reasons for doing so won't! be entailing rnin, without notice, on those who have probably invested their all in house property. The stringent clauses of the new Act are such that a number of licensed houses will most likely have to disappear. Requesting the favor of your votes next Wednesday, I am, Ladies anil Gentlemen, Yours respectfully, F. STANHOPE. Dillman’a Town, February 13 th, 1882. IT R. W. C. GILB ER T, Dentist, (Registered under the New Zealand Dentists’ Act) Is now at GREYMOUTH, and may be consulted at his residence, Hospital sh’eet.
