Tho Board niet at the Board rooni; Mackay street, Greymoutb, on Thursday evening last ; present —Messrs Duncan, Parfitt, Reid, Warner, Grimmondj Rudkin; and the' Chairman (Mr W. H. Perkins). The following report of correspondence received and business transacted, having reference to this part of the district, is extracted from the Argus : From the Chairman of the Knmari Committee, requesting the Board td forward the grauta due to the schools in that district. Consideration deferred till next meeting. From the Chairman of the Arnold School Committee, asking the Board to alter the boundary between the districts of Arnold and Red Jack's.—Consider tion deferred. The report of the examiners of candidates for scholarships was read, and it was resolved " That the report of the scholarship examination be received; and that the thanks of the" Board bd conveyed to the examiners." From the Chairman of the Knmara Committee, requesting the Board to provide for the painting of all the schools in their district, and to erect a dividing fence across the playground of the Kumara school.—Refened to Building Committee. From the same; reporting the resignation of Mrs Hofnerrian as assistant teacher at the Eumara school, and recommending Mrs Williams for the vacancy. Resolved—" That the resignation of Mrs Horneman be accepted." Resolved—" That Mrs Williams be' appointed to the vacancy caused by the' resignation of Mrs Horneman." Resolved—" That Mrs Pascoe be' temporarily appointed teaeher at the Rangiriri School, under the SStli clause." From the Chairman of the WaimeaV Committee, informing the Board that the Committee had agreed to the appointment of Miss "Nancy Martin as teaeher of the Callaghan's School, and that she had commenced her duties ori the Gth of February. Resolved—" That Miss Nancy Martin be appointed - teacher at Callaghan's 1 School, under the 88th clause."
