So far as tile committing of itripdsilion against the public in such a Case is concerned, the consequences .Would not be Serious j but as the qualities of both of the pro* ducts are in many cases directly op* posed to one another; we consider il our duty to direct the pdblic attentibd to the following facts i—- , The eucalyptus oil is recorded to td of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of Secondary nature; arid manifests a drawing, blistering effect tipdn the skin; Any blistering brought oh by the application of a medicament must in* crease inflammation; and it is therefore bvidebt that in Cases df wounds; eoldS; bronchitis, diptheria; croiip, sprains; &c., the cutative power df oUr extract bn the named diseases beiiig unques* tionably proved by fdfiher publications in this ail application df the oil iiistead of our extract must Idipaif the diseased. . DUNCAN M‘LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand; The Extractor the Eucalyptus Glo* hulas, manufactured solely by Messrs Sauder and Sons, Sandhurst, recom* mends itself by the foliowiflg declata* tion and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst :—“ Three medical gentlemen had attended the soil of Mi* Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, pro* caring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and, by the appli* cation of the same He bad the tion of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, arid he has now quite recovered.” Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News:— Mr Gieschen, residing near Syde'U* ham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief Cared after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the ac* cident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnymede) informed the manufac* turers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman’s Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of consider* able size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swell* ing completely by a continued applies* tion of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states j— “ Last Week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache.
