t^kktiaW^^^^r^t^^^'Vir^/^i^-^^J NOTICE; T)Ure Volatile eucalyptus* k globulus extract. Under the distinguished patronage of his Majesty tlie King of Italy; at Rome, according to comniiinicatiori received froni the Cdnsul-Geueral fot Italy, at Melbourne, upon iristruc tions from the .Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878; We are informed that dealers iii medicne often try to sell the eufcalyptug oil found iu the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a. case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ) but as the qualities of both of the products are in. niany cases directly opposed to one another, we consider iil our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts :—• . The eucalyptus oil is recorded to hi of value as a medicairient in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect; upon the skin. Any blistering brought oh by the 5 application of a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident thai; in cases of wounds, colds) bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains; &c, the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former in this paper, an application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded npon the fact that the oil is a resinous 1 product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being abbtit three shillings one pound weight. Our tract consists of the evaporating tides of the gam leaves; soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty : fonr shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in due halfounce and one ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER arid SONS,- Sole Manufa* turers of the Eucalyptus Extract: Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNCAN M'LEAN; Wholesale' Agent fdr New Zealand; The Extract of the Eucalyptus Glo'i bulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, reconi* mends itself by the following declafa* tion and testimonials:— Epitome of declaration made, before Moritz Cohn, J.P. • on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst :—•" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks; and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutelynecessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and fcons, pre caring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, andj by the application of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered." Brief Extraots from the Bendigo Evening News : Mr Gieschen, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold iri November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief! Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at A crushing machine, in Lorig Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnymede) informed the manufac turers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow: In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryaflj batcher, df Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swell' ing completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December', 1877, states:—Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract wad applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes* DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale. Agent for New #eaisfid*
