-■ * : MEETING OP RECEPTION COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Ctfuimittee. ap-' pointed to make suitable arrangement* for the reception of the Hon. W. Rofc leston, Minister of Mines, was belt! after the public iriee'tiug on Monday evening, at the Town Hall, about 25* gentlemen being present, including his Worship the Mayor, who acted as* chairman. Mr W. B. Robiu3on was appointed" Secretary. In accordance with the resolution* passed at the public meeting it was* resolved to telegraph? an invitation to 1 the Hon. Mr Rolleston to a banquet during his visit to Ktfmara; and Messr* SeddoW, BarflF, Barnett, Wylde, and 5 the Secretary were appoiuted to make' favorable arrangements to entertain tlrtf Hon. the Minister of Mines- and Inssuite should they receive a favorable 1 reply from that gentlem'an. The Secretary was instructed to wire" to the Borotfgh Council, asking thetrf to defray any deficiency that may arise' in connection with the' visit of the Hon. the Minister of Miues, the sum not to* exceed £2O. A s«b-couTmiittee was appointed" id draw up a memorial to the Hon. thtf Minister of Mines, the following im*portant works or subjects to be alluded: to :—Water supply, completion \" of sludge-channel, Taipo bridge, bridging Wainihinibi creeks, road to sea .beach, settlement of lands on road to ..Ghriatchurch road, diamond drill, Teremakaw bridge and grounds
, The Secretary was also instructed to write to the Chairman of the Dillman's Town Committee informing him of the action taken in itiiniara, and ; .that it was trie wish Bf the Kumara Committee to work in unison with them. It was also resolved that the various pchoolmasters be written to asking that the children may turn on the occasion, and that they allow themselves to act on the committee, and that ah, adVieitisetnehi be put in the paper telling the children when to 'assemble. The meeting was then adjourued.
