December 2d. Ifc is expected that Parliament will be prorogued this day. Sailed yesterday afternoon, {he Union Company's s.s. Ringarooma, for Bluff. The cricket matchy English team v. the eleven of Victoria was continued to-day. The weather during the day was line, and the wicket was more lively than yesterday. The visitors c'outinned their second innings, which clcfeed for 198, Shrewsbery being not out for 80. The Victorians then went in" for their second innings, and were all disposed of for 75 runs. The bowling of the Englishmen was dead on the wicket; bnt their fielding was weak. Great excitement prevailed towards the con-: elusion of the game, which thus resulted in a victory for the English eleven by 18 runs. The scores are as follow :'—* first innings of the Englishmen, 146; first innings of the Australians, 257; second innings of the Englishmen, 198; second inuiugs of the Australians, 75.
