▼ [NEW ZEALAND PUKSS ASSOCIATION.] Blenheim, December 16\ A man named Henry Boyce was killed in the Wairau Valley yesterday by the upsetting of a wool dray, which he was driving. In coming down a sidlitg the dray capsized, throwing several bales on top of him. Death was instantaneous. He leaves a wife and four children. Wellington, December 16. The 'Frisco mail arrrived at 3.30 this afternoon, and the Southern portion was sent at 5 o'clock. It is probable that action will be taken against those who were engaged in sweeps at the Hutt races on the 30th. Invekcaugill, December 15. At the Round Hill yesterday, a Chinaman was buried alive in bis claim. His remains have since been unearthed and brought to Riverton. An infant, ag?d 11 months, daughter of Mr F. E. Liardet, died this morning from the result of scalds sustained on Monday. Theaccideutoccurred through the child pulling the teapot off the table. G. S. Skinner has been arrested on a
charge of forgory and horse stealing. He was remanded till the 16th. A man named Willian Elson, a stevedore, died suddenly this morning while at work storing wool on boaid the ship Piako. December To. At the inquest on the body of William Elson, who died suddenly yestei" 'day, a verdict was returned that death resulted from heart disease.
