NOTICE. pURE VOLATILE \ GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage hi his _ Majesty the King of Italyj afc Rome, according to communication 1 received froni.tlie, Consul-General foj Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruc ti'qns from the Minister for Foreign Affairs; dated l4bh March', I§7S". . We are informed that dealers in medicne" often try t to sell the, eucalyptus) oil found in the. trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract, ,So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, thq consequences .would,, not be. serious) but as the qualities of both of, the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, tte consider ii our duty td direct the. public to the following facts ; The eucalyptus oil is.recorded to be of value as a medicament in. cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, .and manifests a drawing, blistering- effect! upon the skin:
Any blistering brought oh by thd application of a medicament must increase inflammation) and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds* bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprainsj &c., the curative power of bur extract; ou the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper, an' application of the oil instead of our extraet must impair the diseased. The truth of bur assertion" is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous* equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weighfc Our ex* tract consists of the' evaporating particles of the gum leavesj soothing and healing in its effectSj its price being twenty-ibnr shilling's for one pound weight. Our extract, tlie genuine articlej is only made up in due half* ounce and one ounce vials; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract: Sandhurst; November} 1878. DUNCAN .M'LEAN; Wholesale Agent for New Zealand; The Extract of the Eucalyptus" Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and "Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the , following declaration and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October; 1877, at Sandhurst :—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and fcons, procuring some of their Extract .of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and, by the application of the same he had the satisfac* tion of seeing his son withiu a fortuighfc out of all danger, and he has now quitje recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News:— Mr Gieschen, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the. extract.. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and.all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief! Cared after taking extract internally for six months. A man having. his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the. extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption.in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner,. in . Colbinabbin. (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, batcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed-a lump of considerable size, disabliug her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states:—Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract Was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN" M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for Nevr #eaiaudi
