The following full-powered Steamships, built and fitted expressly for parrying passengers on long ocean voyages, are each of about 4000 tons register, and make the voyage in about 40 days. They are fitted with Punkahs attached to the main engines, and steam-heating apparatus on the most approved principle, and are thoroughly ventilated for the tropics : John Elder Aconcagua Chimborazo Lusitania Cuzco fares: Saloon, 60 to 75 guineas Second saloon, 35 guineas Third class (enclosed cabins), 30 to 22 guineas Open berths, for men only, 16 guineas. One of the Company’s steamers leaves Sydney every four weeks for Singapore and Hong Kong, under mail contract, connecting at Signapore with the Peninsula and Oriental Company, and Messageries Maritimes steamers wj India and Europe (via Suez). Passengers booked at through rates to Queensland, Europe, and Eastern Ports. Tea and other cargo booked in Hon« Kong at through rates to all New Zeal land ports for transhipment to Union Company's steamers at Sydney.
